☁☁☁

it’s cold here in ohio. i know it’s january, but we had a couple warmer days last week where the snow melted + i left my winter coat in the car. i guess the climate woke up and looked at its calendar, though, because it’s freezing again and the snow is starting to really accumulate. i’m having a lordy-i’m-grateful-to-be-tucked-up-inside-with-a-cup-of-seattles-best-hazelnut-coffee-listening-to-slow-club-and-writing-poetry type of moment. it’s lovely :)

☁☁☁

what’s the weather like today where you are?

it’s snowing gently tiny flakes … we have an expression around here small snow/big snow – meaning when the snowflakes are tiny it warns of a big accumulation

a spectacularly lovely collection of images today

happy weekend xoxo S & les Gang

Ah yes, coffee and tea–two of my most favorite things in the world. I could so use a latte right now!! The weather here is sunny and unfortunately I have to get in the car and zip into Los Angeles so I’ll be missing the prettiest day at the beach that we’ve had in a long while. p.s. Thank you Alison for your sweet comment re: my shoot–I so appreciate it!

Hope you have a great weekend!

All these wonderful, moody coffee and tea photos should warm you up. (How cool is this rough tree bar/table?!) It’s mild-ish here, but very rainy.

I feel warmer already just looking at these photos!
I think we’ve had very similar weather (here in Toronto) New Years was so warm we were hanging out on a patio in short sleeves…and then it got bitterly cold and finally snowed! cold not good…but the snow is nice :o)
Good to see that you know how to enjoy the cold weather and keep warm :o)

  16. johanna January 7, 2011 at 4:25 PM #

oh, I soo recognize your feelings.. We have had lots of snow since beginning of December here in the south of Sweden. I love it for brightening up the dark days here, but I hate it for moments like this morning, when my car got stuck in the snow on my way to work!!!
Luckily my husband and a neighbour came to my rescue :)

    Have a great weekend!

    xo Johanna

hour tea and coffee photos make me look forward to the turn of cold weather we’re suppose to get this weekend.

oh here in madrid has been raining for a couple of days. even tough that means temperatures are a little bit higher (u need to still wear your coat though) it also means stupid traffic jams and crowded cafés, restaurants and cinemas.. i really hate rain as you can tell!!

  25. rachel January 8, 2011 at 3:31 AM #

This post makes me feel cozy and warm. I love that photo with the suitcase and teapot! Numero…. 3! It seems as though, even though I’m on the other side of the world from you, I’ve got similar weather. It was SO cold before and then got warm and it’s been super foggy every single day. Looks as though the weather here in Switzerland is confused because it goes from cold one day to warm the next and so on.

  31. Ida January 9, 2011 at 10:05 AM #

These pictures make me long for all the great cafes in the US.
Currently the snow is melting here, don’t really know what to think of that….

  46. persis January 10, 2011 at 12:58 AM #

sighhhh these pics look so comfortable and warm. i’d give just about anything to stay in bed with a steaming cup of tea instead of going to work this monday!

  47. Shawna January 10, 2011 at 2:35 AM #

  48. ana b January 10, 2011 at 3:17 AM #

I can never get enough of cosy tea/coffee pictures. Such a simple ritual multiplied a million times all around the world. I love seeing everyone’s crockery, whether they have any pastry with their drink, the angle they take the picture. I love it!

  49. In Honor Of Design January 10, 2011 at 9:14 AM #

Allison, love this collection of images…especially since I am a coffe + tea lover :)
I didn’t know you lived in OH…that is where I grew up:)

Lots of snow here today! My hubby got a snow day…hooray!
